My dad, Peter Household

My dad, Peter Household

For the second time in this show’s history I had the pleasure of my dad’s company tonight, as his day in Bradford during his trip from Ireland co-incided with the day of my show.  Apart from discussing the night’s music, we discussed his “6-penny worth of porridge” as featured in yesterdays copy of The Independent and also the proposed crewed one-way mission to Mars as recently discussed on my dad’s blog.

My dad’s favourite tune in tonight’s show was that by The Phoenix Foundation.

Here’s the full list of tunes:

Constellations line-up

This Sunday, the rather splendid Constellations Festival is on in Leeds, and it really is quite a line-up!

You may already have heard Katie and Jen talking about it in The Show, and I’m sure several other BCB presenters have been bigging it up too.

As you will see the line-up really is quite special.  Regular listeners to Eclectic Mainline will have heard all the artists mentioned to the left.

Last night in my show we featured Katie speaking to Local Natives about their appearance at the festival.

Eclectic Mainline 29th September 2010

Is this me or it a shuttlecock? Tricky one.

I can see the similarity

Phil Cope said I looked like a shuttlecock this evening.   This was due to pressure exerted upon my mop of hair by my cycle helmet.

I’m having my hair cut tomorrow anway, so maybe next time Phil sees me he’ll just think I look like a shuttle?
