Radio Buffet #14

Bloody Nora, Emma Bob 3 left me with a major earworm when we recorded this show – Starship perforated my brain for a couple of days, and it wasn’t pleasant, as that bass sound is particularly offensive to me. Hope you weren’t left with the same problem.

Plus I would like to apologise for my totally inaccurate description of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, as it’s seven deadly exes, not ex-boyfriends. Huge blunder, sorry.

And soz for running out of time and playing a mere millisecond of Dam Mantle’s Rebong – next month, listeners! But enough of apologies as there was also plenty of aceness! So here’s what we did play…

RADIO BUFFET#10

Do you know, we were so busy chatting away behind the scenes on our radio show that we forgot to name-check Those Dancing Days and Caribou, which is very rubbish of us. And Those Dancing Days deserve special mention as they lead the Wichita girl-pop revolution, a revolution that should be acknowledged. Germaine Greer made a point of saying there still aren’t many women in bands, when I went to see her in Halifax last week. I know what you’re saying, Germaine, I really do, but there are actually LOADS of fannytastic musicians out there – we have no trouble finding stuff to play on Radio Buffet. Anyroad, before I tell you what we did play on our radio show, let me share with you something Ms Greer did teach me that I never knew before. It’s a new term of endearment for ladyparts – Bearded Clams! Kept me amused for days that did…

Buffet

Blimey, since getting back from Hawaii we have been very excited to be back in the present day. Been listening to tons of new tracks for the new up coming show next month. So many ace tunes I’ve been discovering: Loka and Fredo Viola are getting lots of plays on my ipod. As are Two Door Cinema Club… So many choices and only an hour to fit it all into. Always start to get excited around now because Maria and I never know what each will bring to the studio when we do Buffet. So always get loads of ‘ooooh what is that you are playing madam, that is aces!’ moments. Right that’s me for now. Onwards for pop and glory.
