Matters relating to Simon Ashberry’s Bradford Beat show on Thursdays at 8pm (UK time)

Exclusive: Leigh on new Terrorvision album

Terrorvision bass maestro Leigh Marklew has been into BCB to chat about the band’s new album Super Delux.

In an hour-long interview to be broadcast on Bradford Beat this week, he talks about the gestation of the new material, working with new drummer Cam and some of the band members’ side projects and reminisces about some of Terrorvision’s career highlights.

We’ll also be playing another a batch of new tracks form Super Delux so tune in from 8pm – 9pm on Thursday 10 February.

The show will probably be repeated later in the month too – and there’s also this new-fangled Listen Again service…

The ‘Vision are back!

After a decade away from recording new material, Bradford’s own Terrorvision are back with a new studio album.

Bradford Beat has been given an advance copy of Super Delux and will be playing several tracks from it this week (Thursday 3 Feb).

Early impressions suggest there are some classic TV tunes on there, such as the nostalgic Rock Radio, rousing Neighbourhood and more mellow Pushover.

One of the band will be coming into the studio later in the month to chat about the new album.

Bradford Beat is on air every Thursday on BCB 106.6FM from 8pm – 9pm.

Captain Beefheart RIP

Yes, yes, I know it’s nearly Christmas and we’re all supposed to be feeling festive.

But spare a thought for the sad news that Don van Vliet has died aged 69.

As Captain Beefheart, he was one of the few musicians to truly merit the description “genuis”.

So in amongst the Yuletide shenanigans, we’ll be paying our own tribute to the Good Captain on Bradford Beat this week (Thursday, 23 Dec 8pm – 9pm)

This year, we want to make it as democratic as possible by asking listeners to submit suggestions for their favourite songs of 2010.
So here’s your chance – among the most frequently-played albums on Beadford Beat have been The National and Arcade Fire.
