Bradford African Community BAC – Lottery Funded Engage Project
These are 5 radio programmes which interviewed and recorded the lives of the young people involved and who volunteer at Bradford African Community. The National Lottery grant (which began in in 2022) enabled a youth engagement project to be set up which began operating in phase 3 of the project in 2024. The project grant finishes in 2025. Many of these young people arrived as refugees from the wars and disputes in Africa. They have come from Burundi, Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Darfur, Liberia, Gambia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda. These young people are becoming British Citizens and these programmes record their journeys and their dreams for the future. We would like to thank Mary Dowson, Clive Whittaker, Dipak Mistry, Jonathan Pinfield, Jem, Jo Kenyon at BCB. Thank you for all your kindness and help in engaging with our project and inspiring our young members of the African community.
